We as midwives are experts in managing normal pregnancy and birth and in recognizing when complications are needed that require obstetric care. They focus on providing moms-to-be with physical, emotional, and psychological support during their pregnancies.

Midwives consider pregnancy to be a normal event in a woman's life, not a disease that requires medical treatment.

Susana Cabrera Tibanta, lives in the La Toglla Ancestral Community, in the Guangopolo parish, Quito canton, descendant of the Jilajalo ethnic group, today belonging to the Kitu Kara People of Quichua nationality.
She is a midwife with ancestral knowledge and certified by the Ministry of Public Health of Ecuador.
