WORKSHOP: "NON-VISUAL SENSORY COMPOSITION LABORATORY"

PRESENTED BY:

Karina Neppas Jimenez

DETAILS

It is a research space that uses the game to investigate non-visual sensory perception as a connection methodology between body and mind, paying special attention to the senses of touch, smell and taste. Who are you really in a blind world? Experience that aims to make these feelings visible through drawing, emphasizing the recognition of one's own and cultural identity.

Karina Neppas, scenic and conceptual artist, researcher of the human senses, movement and its close relationship with the perception of identity.
Creator of the Sensory Composition Laboratory and Neo training projects that seek to show that the body and mind (emotions/feelings) coexist in a close relationship that is impossible to deny, and that by overloading both the sense of sight and hearing, we leave to perceive touch, smell and taste that are also part of our own identity. Recognizing them opens our mind to unknown spaces within our own being on a physical and emotional level.
Current statement based on the research that was born in 2020 regarding the pandemic, the excess of virtuality and her own experience of being a woman with a hearing deficiency of 60% in her right ear who had to change her learning methodology and teaching in the artistic field.
