Manuel Suquilanda, a renowned pioneer of agroecology in Ecuador, will present an unmissable presentation exploring scientific and technological advances in agriculture. Manuel Benjamín Suquilanda Valdivieso, recognized as one of the main pioneers of agroecology in Ecuador, is the current Scientific Merit and a leading figure in sustainable development. Born in Macará, he graduated as an agricultural engineer in 1972 and obtained his Magister Scientiae degree in Rural Development in 1978, consolidating a solid international education with specializations in agroecology and organic agriculture in countries such as Cuba, the United States, Israel, and the Netherlands. His extensive academic career includes serving as Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the Central University of Ecuador and as a professor at various prestigious institutions.

As the author of 35 books and more than 250 articles, and an advisor to companies and national and international organizations (FAO, GIZ, United Nations), Manuel has transformed the way Ecuador farms, promoting environmentally friendly agricultural practices and food sovereignty. A recipient of awards such as the National Blue Planet Award and the Ecological Merit Award, his presentation at the congress promises to inspire and guide the path toward agricultural production of high nutritional quality and free of agrotoxins, consolidating his position as a key voice in the transformation of the sector.
