The Andean worldview is deeply rooted in a profound understanding of nature and the cosmos. One of its most powerful symbols is the Chakana, often referred to as the Andean Cross. While the solar Chakana is widely recognized for representing the four cardinal points, the seasons, and cosmic balance, there is a lesser-known but equally significant interpretation: the Lunar Chakana. This symbol is intimately connected to the cycles of the moon, the feminine principle, and the wisdom of Andean women.

In Andean tradition, the moon (Killa) governs fertility, intuition, and emotional depth. Women, like the moon, experience constant transformations through menstruation, pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause.
